A beautifully painful novel about love and loss, healing and redemption, about a family that only grows stronger in spite of the tragedy that threatens to tear them apart, and about a mother’s desperate love for her children.
"If I could have talked, I would have told the nurse that my life was over. I would have begged for my perfect family to go back to the way it had been. I would have pleaded to know the future, and cried to hold my newborn daughter. I would have screamed that this was not how it was supposed to be."

Daughter Of Promise eBook Rachel Steer Reviews
This is why I support St Judes Children Hospital every month. They are doing the research & are being there for families that have sick children like Abby. Rachel wrote with such honesty. I couldn't put the book down.
This story about a family's struggle to do the "right" thing when it comes to determining the fate of their newborn baby girl born with cancer will leave you praising God's name. Rachel and Michael have a very big decision to make. They can either chose one that will leave them sad and feeling empty or choose the other that can affect not only their lives but the lives of two children, grandparents, relatives, etc., knowing that it could be a long road ahead of them and that the nice little life they have will forever be changed. It is a quick read and once you start it is hard to put it down! I had the pleasure of meeting Rachel and Michael and because of reading their story, obstacles in the road ahead for me will forever be influenced by their will, perseverance and passion, but mostly by their kind nature of doing God's will and seeing the good he has done and will do for all. Wavering is not an option! God bless them all!
I cried through it all. Those first weeks are a blur as I look back. What a wonderful, honest look at the pain, doubt, faith, and ultimate joy that Abby's journey and precious life has brought. A definite must- read for anyone facing the challenges and joys of loving and caring for a sick child.
So great to read that Abby is a healthy kid! Life unfolds in unexpected ways. Thank goodness for St. Jude's.

Rachel has done an excellent job in describing how parents of children with cancer feel and the wonderful world of St,Jude. After having met this special family, I can say that this book is a true representation of all they went through and the courage and strength they have shown.
What an inspiring book! I can't get it out of my thoughts. Now I want to know "the rest of the story".
